End of year business
Hello everyone, It seems like just yesterday I wrote the welcome letter for the new year and now I am writing the end of the year note. Wow!! Just a few reminders.....the spring recital is set for Saturday, May 14th at 12:30 at the Greenfield Public Library. Please note the time change from the usual. I have also asked the students to draw a picture of one of their recital songs showing what they think of when they play the song. I explained to them how music tells a story whenever we play and I wanted to see the picture was in their head as it will be so different from mine and yours. I do NOT mean for this to be labor intensive. I know we all have science fair projects and reports to do. I don't need these until the week of the recital, so all those other activities will be done. I am going to attach them all to a big piece of paper and make a mural of all their art. I think it will be lovely! I explained in detail what I would like to the kids. If you have any more questions, please ask. Thanks! I will again be giving the students their end of the year test on the last Tuesday of the month. This lets me see how they each are growing in their music knowledge. Please, as always, encourage your child(ren) that this is really more for me than for them. No worries! :) Lastly, if you are interested in summer lessons, please call to set up a time slot. I will be teaching on Tuesdays and running the whole day. God bless us all as we run to the finish line! Chris

Let's Get started!
Welcome piano friends to another school year. I am so excited to get started with the kiddos. Lessons will resume on Tuesday, September 7th and Thursday, September 9th. I will be calling each family to let you know your child's time. I worked very closely with the classroom teachers so I will not be pulling them from anything core or God's Word. If your child has a problem, please let me know. I will be using my blog for information, but I will always be sending home paper notes as well. PLEASE check with your child to be sure to get any notes I may send. I look forward to working with you this year! God bless us all! :)

Spring Recital
For the spring recital I am making sloppy joes for us to eat - kind of like a real farmer's meal. Remember the theme is "country". I am asking that each family let me know about how many from your party will be planning on staying so I have enough food fo everyone without having TONS of leftovers. :) You can let me know either by calling me ar telling me at school when you see me. I know this is kind of different, but I like to keep you guys guessing. :) Happy day to you all!

Christmas present idea
If you are still looking for that "just right" present, I would like to suggest maybe getting your child a metronome for Christmas. They are so very helpful inkeeping a steady beat! :) You can find a fairy decent one for about $30. Korg is a good brand name noted for accuracy. If you have any questions, just ak me! Happy shopping!

Piano REcital update
DON'T FORGET!!!!! The recital is quickly approaching. If your child is a beginning student, don't worry, they too are included in the recital; however, I wanted to get them as far along as possible before I gave them "real" music. They will be receiving their songs this week. They still have plenty of time. Set aside some extra time on Saturday (Dec. 12th) for a holiday treat spread!!!!! The kids are all doing very well on their songs!!!! Keep them practicing! :)
Welcome to my BLOG!!!
Mr. Scharf was so kind to help me set up my own blog spot. I am going to post updates when I have information for you from here. I am so excited! Please send me your feedback! :)
